1 Night Sahara Camel Trekking Tour in Merzouga Desert

This trip (1 Night in the desert) begins with the evening, we will be organizing the Sahara camel trekking, ride for the night in the desert from an hotel near the sand dunes. The camels will be packed with foods, blankets and everything else which we will need. The trek will start right into the desert for 1 hour and 30 min, We will spend the night in an equipped camp with drum music in the middle of the Sahara. This will be a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset and sunrise, when we arrive at the camp we will walk to the high dunes to see the sunset, It will be a magical night when the sky is clear and the stars are sparkling and shining with intensity. During the first night, there will be a wonderful dinner around the campfire, we will spend the night in nomad tents. In the morning we will ride the camels backing to Merzouga, you’ll have breakfast and shower in the hotel in Merzouga.

2 Days Sahara Camel trekking in Merzouga desert

This trip begins with evening, for the night we will be organizing the camel ride in the desert from an hotel near the sand dunes. The camels will be packed with foods, blankets and everything else which we will need. The trek will start right into the desert for 1 hour and 30 min. We will spend the night in an equipped camp with drum music in the middle of the Sahara, this will be a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the sunset and sunrise, when we arrive at the camp we walk to the high dunes to see the sunset. It will be a magical night when the sky is clear and covered with stars that sparkle and shine with intensity. During the first night, there will be a wonderful dinner around the campfire, we will spend the night in nomad tents . At the next day’s morning after the breakfast in the camp, we will ride the camels to visit nomad peoples and have luuch with them. After that, we will ride the camels back to the camp, when we reach the camp, we will leave the camels to take the sand broads and walk to the high dunes, we will visit an oasis into the dunes then we will walk back to the camp after the sunset. The next day in the morning, we will ride the camel back to Merzouga after the sunrise, you’ll have breakfast and shower in the hotel in Merzouga.

3 Days Sahara Camel trekking In Sahara desert Merzouga

Depending on the arrival time to Merzouga, this trip begins after a leisurely lunch. Camels will be loaded with food, blankets and everything is needed for this trip that will take us through the desert alone. This route will uncover a small oasis hidden in the dunes where we’ll spend the night. If we were lucky and the weather was clear, we may enjoy a starry night during and after a good dinner with the light of fire.

In the morning we will have a good breakfast then we’ll travel almost for 2 hours to reach our next destination. We will stop for a half hour for lunch under the shade of a Tamariz, typical desert tree. After lunch, we will continue our trip to meet a Touareg family where we will spend the night and interact with them. The next morning, we are going to have breakfast with the family and then we will move to another small oasis located in the desert where the next camp is inhabited by a nomadic Berber family.

This tour assumes an average of 90 minutes to two hours of walk on foot, or camel ride every day.

Merzouga desert camel Trekking – Sunset Tour:

The Sunset tour begins around 5:30pm. It takes almost half an hour to reach the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi riding on top of a camel. Then, we will leave the camels, travel by foot about 80 meters to reach the highest dune of Merzouga. For those who want to see a panoramic view they must climb to the top, it will take them another 10 minutes. If you prefer not to hike up the highest dunes, the area around the camel “parking” is perfect to watch the sunset. After having enjoyed this short time we will travel back to the village before getting dark. This tour includes a stop at the garden where you will have a short explanation about the canal system of the desert.

Merzouga desert camel Trekking – Sunrise Tour :

The Sunrise Tour starts early and takes 35 minutes to reach the highest dune of Merzouga. This tour includes a visit to the garden on the way back. For this tour, you don’t need to set the alarm clock. Enjoy your night and we will come around for a wake-up call.
