5 Days Marrakech Desert Tour from Fes

After breakfast we will begin our Fes Marrakech Desert Tour, leaving from Fes to Merzouga through the Middle and through Ifrane, the ‘Switzerland’ of Morocco, plus the cedar woods of Azrou where we can stop to feed the monkeys. We will keep on to Midelt where we will eat. We will then reach the Ziz River and stop to see the Ziz Gorges before proceeding to Merzouga for supper and night in the hotel after passing through Erfoud.

Today we will explore the Sahara and the enchantment that is the Erg Chebbi sand ridges. We’ll make a unique circuit in the desert where you to will have the opportunity to see the migrant’s lifestyle and the stunning changing contrasts of the of the Sahara. We will visit the ‘dark town’ of Khamlia to see the Gnawa entertainers. We will have the opportunity to taste a customary Berber pizza for lunch in the old capital of Rissani. Then return Toward the evening to ride the camels to see the nightfall over the ridges and spend the night with delicious dinner in the camp and listen to berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the astonishing desert dunes.

After breakfast in the bivouacs, we’ll continue our Fes Marrakech Desert Tour, and go on a camel trek back to the lodging in Merzouga for a shower. We leave the Sahara desert dunes of Erg Chebbi to drive through the off-road and cross the hamada (dark Desert) to get to the town of Rissani with an optional visit to the local market. A while later, we drive to Erfoud that is known for its fossils. Here, we can stop to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to the stunning Todra gulches, known for shake climbing, where you can move before we land to our cabin for the dinner and night.

After breakfast at the lodging, we start our adventure along the street of a Thousand Kasbahs passing by the Dades valley where there are tremendous kasbahs on the two sides of the street. Some of these kasbahs are old fortified houses that have been reestablished yet a considerable measure of them are demolished. We will pass the valley and go up through a rough trail where numerous Berber towns yet nomads live in caves. Here we will have the opportunity to visit one of these families and investigate their way of life and how they take care of goats and sheep herds. We will be amazed by the scenes of the bright rose valley as we proceed with our adventure to Ouarzazate via Skoura for supper and night in a lodging.

After breakfast, we will visit Taourirt Kasbah before leaving to Ait Benhaddou to visit the World Heritage Site. We will proceed with our adventure to Marrakech which incorporates a visit to the High Atlas Berber town of the Kasbah Glaoui and Telouet where we will eat at a local cafe before passing the Tizi-n-Tichka back to your accommodation in Marrakech or airplane airport ( according to your flight time).
