6 Days to Merzouga Desert From Ourzazate

In the morning, we leave from Ouarzazate to Foum Taznakhte through Zguit. Where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon we head to Cheguagua, where nomads live in tents, across the dry lake Iriqui and desert plateaus of Akassia, and continuing through the desert Cheguagua to see the sunset at night. Dinner included the night in the bivouacs.

We wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise behind the dunes of the desert. After breakfast we will go to M’hamid through a sacred Oasis called Oum Laalag. Lunch in M’hamid, before leaving Tagounite and Tamgroute, to visit the old Zaouia Koranic library, earthenware craftmen and underground Kasbah. After breakfast, we will leave Draa valley to Zagora crossing Nkob and Tansikht where we’ll pass by brilliant pre-Saharan scenes scattered with Berber towns. Proceeding with our way to Alnif, where we stop for lunch. After lunch we head towards the noteworthy ridges of Merzouga passing by Rissani which is (the origin of the Alaouite tradition). Supper and overnight in a conventional hotel in Merzouga.

After breakfast, we will go on a journey around the dunes and through two oases of Merzouga. We will visit a town known as Khamlia (black people), then MIFISS mines. We’ll cross the desert plateaus through the Berber tents and people living in the desert for quite a long time, we will end our day tour in the oasis of TISSARDMINE. Then we’ll come back to our lodging at 15:00, to get ready for the camel ride to a wild desert oasis, for about two hours trekking in the desert, there we will take dinner and overnight in a berber bivouac under the stars.

We’ll get up very early in the morning to see the dawn behind brilliant sandy ridges. Then we come back on a dromedary. After breakfast, we will experience a trip through the huge palm grove of Tafilalet and going through the city of Rissani (ancient capital of the Alaouite sultans and the huge souk of the south) we’ll proceed to the city of Erfoud and take the street to the valley of Ziz, lunch in the core of the valley. Toward the afternoon, we will pass through Goulmima and the palm grove of Tinjdad. Finally we continue to Tinghir, where we stop for supper and overnight in a lodging.

After breakfast, we will explore Todra and Dades gorges Gorges continue on the paved road. We will have lunch in the middle of the gorges. In the afternoon, we take the road that crosses the valley of roses and leads to the capital of roses Kalaa M’gouna.
